Los Chicharrons ‘Ma Do Nar’ to Feature on NPR today

NPR will today feature the track Ma Do Nar from pioneering world dance duo
Los Chicharrons. The song will be aired during the Alt-Latino program and
streamed via npr.org/music.

The Afro/Salsa hip shaker was recorded during a trip to Bamako (capital of Mali)
and features vibrant layers of percussion, keys and horns. The focal point of the
track is the rich, griot style vocal sung by Saramba Koyatè in the native Bambara
language which adds to the overall texture of song in the same way cream adds
to coffee, by introducing that unctuous element to a peppy and sprightly brew.

Consisting of music’s own odd couple, Ramon Santana and Morten Varano,
Los Chicharrons are set to release their 4th album Roots Of Life February 21st.
The new material presents a truly international culture clash with irresistible
blends of Bass Music, Afro Funk and House, which will be filling dance floors
around the globe in 2011.

So tune into NPR today get that conga line started!
