OUR TEAM
Nadine Gelineau; President/Founder
Growing up in Ottawa, Canada, and living in NYC since ’97, Gelineau has an extensive career in various aspects of the music industry. An executive with over 25 years of Domestic and International marketing experience in the music industry, her involvement ranged from radio (CKCU, CKUT, CBC Brave New Waves) to club dj, retail buyer, concert promoter & finally executive marketing roles at BMG Music Canada, Palm Pictures, Volcano and TVT Records. Her reputation as an innovative, results-driven, life-long music fan led to the birth of a partnership in a culture agency with Vice, called addVice, and eventually her own agency, The MuseBox. She also loves traveling towards the sun, her cat LeTigre, and spas. Within the field of Artist Management, Gelineau worked with The Dears during the “No Cities Left” album cycle, K-Os, and Echo & The Bunnymen; her current management clients include Wolf and Cub (Australia) (in partnership with Tim Manton).
David Benge; MB3 Label & Distribution Manager
Born and raised in New Zealand, David has been working in the industry for the past 15 years. He began his love affair with music playing guitar at the local church on Sunday mornings with his parents and little brother. Moving out of home at 17, he delved head first into the depths of the seminal Flying Nun labels catalogue and hasn’t looked back since. After releasing an album with his old band D Super, David left New Zealand for Australia, where he started up his own management company. In 2003 along with a couple of friends, he started the Speak n Spell group of companies – a record label, management company, and touring company bundled into one. Setting up home in New York in 2009, David continues to manage artists, currently looking after Young Magic, Liam Finn and Cut Off Your Hands. He has worked with a variety of artists and labels over the years including No Age, The Black Lips, Four Tet, The Dandy Warhols, Midlake, French Kiss Records, Motown Records, Ecstatic Peace Records, Carpark Records, Bear in Heaven, The Antlers, and a slew of others in between. A father to be come March, David has a radio show on East Village Radio, sporadically scrawls words on paper, loves vinyl, literature, typewriters, old model ships, red wine, and tattoos, and has been misleadingly described as a leggy blonde. He also likes long walks on the beach and experiencing the deliciously intriguing meals his loving wife experiments with.
Eric Ervin; VP of Sync Licensing & Business Affairs
Eric Ervin began his career in the music industry in 1995 interning in the legal office of TVT Records in New York City. He was then hired by LoveCat Music Publishing to help start business operations and oversee administration of publishing rights and licensing deals. Following Law School Eric became a junior associate at the entertainment law firm Rudolph & Beer LLP, where he worked on a variety of projects for major recording artists such as Britney Spears, Wu Tang Clan and Keith Murray. At Rudolph & Beer, Eric also gained experience working in the independent film industry, assisting on projects involving rights clearances, film financing and distribution. In 2004 Eric joined the boutique entertainment law firm of Kaplan & Gamble as a senior associate where he developed a specialty practice in music licensing for indie film clearing the music of countless artists for a variety of films, video games and television projects both on the Licensor and Licensee side of the deal. In 2008 Eric started a private practice representing a variety of creative talent, including musicians, actors, producers, designers and entertainment companies. Currently Eric manages The Vandelles – a hot young Surf Pop band out of Brooklyn NY. Eric enjoys being a Bon Vivant, who practices Muay Thai and loves to DJ late night parties under his DJ moniker Swervewolf.
Josh Eldridge; Head of Marketing
Josh Eldridge brings a wealth of experience and a true DIY mentality to the MuseBox team. At the age of 19, Josh moved to Los Angeles and made an immediate impact by landing at job at Century Media Records, one of EMI’s most successful independent labels. Working on the promotions team, Josh moved up the ranks working with bands like Lacuna Coil, In This Moment and former Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagan. Then, Josh took his skills into the artist management world, teaming with The Regime to work with artists such as the multi-platinum superstar Everlast (and House of Pain), Unwritten Law, Brokencyde, Kottonmouth Kings, Grammy award winning jazz artist Poncho Sanchez, and action sports icon Jason Ellis. Josh then returned to Century Media as the company’s Head of Publicity, leading the charge on successful campaigns for bands like Suicide Silence, In Flames, Winds of Plague, Terror and Architects (UK). Also responsible for founding the successful Conspiracy PR, Josh continued to find success with bands like YOB and even entered the stand-up comedy world, handling marketing campaigns for the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway. When he is off-the-clock, Josh enjoys traveling, playing with his puppy, Layla (named after the Eric Clapton song, mind you!) and continuing his search for the most delicious dessert in the world.
Amanda Charney; Senior Publicist
To say that her love for music started at an early age would be an understatement. While Amanda’s friends were reading Teen Beat, pining over JTT and Devon Sawa, she was pouring over stacks of Rolling Stone and jamming out to Bob Dylan & Aretha Franklin. While Amanda still has those stacks of vintage Rolling Stone magazines and harbors the remnants of a MAJOR Justin Timberlake crush, she has come a long way since those days. While in college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she became Amanda Panda, a panda-suit sporting radio personality on top 40 station, Z104. This is where her outgoing personality first resonated through the airwaves and where her passion for the music business was solidified. She then graduated to become a music publicist at Plan A Media, working with industry veterans Ron Shapiro and Patti Conte. There, she spent the past 4 years pouring her energy into promoting bands of every genre and working with talent such as Shontelle, Vanessa Carlton, We Are Scientists, Ari Hest, Bob Seger, Creed Bratton (Of The Grassroots and The Office), Ghostland Observatory, Jace Everett, RED, Dot Dot Dot, Great Big Sea, Sugar Ray and The Rapture. The only things Amanda loves as much as music and going to concerts is ANYTHING covered in leopard print, her puppies Harley and Chloe, crossword puzzles and fountain soda.
Lauren Applebaum; Senior Publicist
This unashamed former music groupie began establishing her media contact list before she was even old enough to have her driver’s permit. Growing up in the suburbs of NYC, Lauren submerged herself in the concert circuits at a young age and became a familiar face amongst journalists during meet-and-greets and press junkets. Fast forward 15 years later, & Lauren now works hand-in-hand with many of the same members of the press who know her for possessing the exact same passion, dedication, enthusiasm and tenacity that she did in her glorious teenage years. Lauren’s undeniable passion for public relations & all things entertainment eventually drove her (literally) to Los Angeles where she began her career in entertainment PR at Shock Ink., & worked with legendary artists such as Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Lita Ford, David Lee Roth & Heart. A New Yorker at heart, she returned to the Big Apple in late 2009 and began to embark on freelance endeavors which have lead her to work on events such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week & Steve Nash’s Annual Showdown in Chinatown, as well as with talent from your favorite guilty pleasure TV shows like Gossip Girl, Ugly Betty, Law & Order: SVU, & Real Housewives of New York. Lauren has a proven track record for securing top-tier media placements in The LA Times, The Today Show, Good Day NY, Good Day LA, NY Post, Urban Daddy, The Wall Street Journal, AOL, Billboard, OK!, New York Magazine & LX New York …to name a few. When she is not feverishly typing away on her Blackberry or checking Facebook & Twitter, Lauren likes to make excuses to not cook and expand her take-out menu repertoire.
Sarah Richardson; Manager of Media & Business Development
As a teenager fronting an all-girl British “punk” band, Sarah was determined to carve a path in music (albeit front of stage wasn’t necessarily where her talents lay…) After studying a Marketing degree in Brighton, UK, Sarah landed a job at Sony, where she stayed for 5 years working across Mobile, Direct Marketing, and Digital Marketing, predominantly for Columbia Records. From there, Sarah headed up the Digital Marketing and Promotions for artists signed to Nettwerk in the UK, before joining award-winning London PR agency Anorak as a Senior Digital Publicist and Marketing Manager. She has played an integral role in campaigns for artists including Calvin Harris, The Ting Tings, Manic Street Preachers, Metronomy, Ladytron, as well as developing expertise in festival, event and brand promotions. Sarah joins The Musebox at the same time as fulfilling her dream of tearing things up in NYC.
Melissa Nastasi; Publicist
The former Editor of the now defunct music website, GreenShoelace, as well as running her own site, Modern Mystery Blog, Melissa has interned, worked & written for countless music outlets in New York including Matador Records, Columbia Records, Tell All Your Friends, Death + Taxes, Review You & more. Interviewing everyone from We Are Scientists, Surfer Blood, The Dandy Warhols, The Morning Benders, The Drums, Of Montreal, & countless others, her musical knowledge is endless. She also ran her own record label, Sizzleteen Records, straight out of college with a few friends in tow. Discovering Indie Rock at the age of 12 when she brought Pavement’s “Crooked Rain Crooked Rain,” she credits the scene for creating her love for not only the music, but the underground acts themselves. Playing in countless bands over the years, even opening for Kimya Dawson of The Moldy Peaches & appearing on a Weezer tribute album, there is no limit to the direction her passion takes her. Whether it’s sharing a booth at a pizza joint with The Spinto Band, having Matt Pond tell her about a band fist fight over drinks, cracking a joke with Julian Casablancas, or being Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin’s merchandise girl for the night, she loves everything about music big, small & in between. In free time, you can find her at Barcade in Brooklyn trying to beat Ben’s high score in Marble Madness with her boyfriend.
Caitlin Pasko; Publicity Coordinator
A graduate of Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Caitlin has learned everything there is to know about music and the industry, period. She is a critically acclaimed performer/composer/virtuoso singer/pianist who has been performing for the better part of ten years all over the East Coast. In November 2010, after consecutive posts at Astralwerks, Tell All Your Friends PR, and Bank Robber Music, she started Octelephant PR so that she could lend legitimacy to the world of publicity and to some of the amazing projects and companies that her friends and peers were starting around her. Her infant idea saw major success with the publication of Mason Jar Music in the Washington Post, Village Voice, and DailyCandy. In a combined effort between these publications and her supernatural work ethic, Mason Jar Music funded a major Kickstarter project and are now taking their business to soaring new heights.
Lydia Kanuga; Publicity Coordinator
Whether it was attempting to memorize the periodic table of elements to the tune of Snoop Dogg’s “Lodi Dodi” in High School, or working in promotions at her local top 40-radio station in college, Lydia has had a life long passion for all things music & entertainment. Never having been to NYC, she landed here in 2006 not knowing a soul, and completed her Masters degree in Music Business from NYU while completing several internships in the industry. Her “Walking Eye” internship in Columbia Records’ “War Room” lead to a full time job in A&R and Marketing where she got elbow deep in the nitty gritty of campaigns for Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and Susan Boyle among others. She then made the move to Publicity where she worked on campaigns for many artists including Victoria Justice, Raphael Saadiq and Jackie Evancho. In her spare time, Lydia enjoys anything involving Hass Avocados, Rick Ross, and refrigerated mini Twix bars.
Marc Bauer; Booking Agent (EKG Partnership)
Marc Bauer (founder and CEO of EKG Booking) has over fifteen years experience in the music industry. Before he came from a tenure at The Agency Group where he worked with agents, managers and promoters from around the world, Marc started a boutique punk label in his teens where he began gaining his experience and contacts that he relies on to this day. During his time at The Agency Group, Marc worked with such diverse acts as The Black Keys, Blonde Redhead, The Honey Brothers (featuring Adrian Grenier), Dinosaur Jr., The New York Dolls and The White Stripes. Under the banner of EKG Booking, Marc will work with each artist to achieve their long term goals through open dialogue, candid rapport and innovative solutions in booking. When not working with music, Marc fills his spare time with terrible puns, mediocre television and excellent friends.
Mikey Watkins; Office & Project Manager
Michael grew up in the serene Blue Mountains, an hour west of Sydney N.S.W Australia. He was headed to become a professional golfer (seriously) when during his mid to late teens began to play music and, like most kids, found this (and girls) much more appealing. He studied economics at Macquarie University and after graduation spent the next five years traveling the globe and living between Boston, London and Sydney, as well as working in various financial and government project management roles. Much to his mother’s disgust he refused to cut his hair, never became a merchant banker, and wound up working at pioneering 1980′s record label Timberyard Records, the label responsible for early Dubrovniks, Box the Jesuit, Cosmic Psychos and You Am I releases, to name a few. Now in New York, he spends his time at the office, at shows, playing in local bands, or at Mamoun’s Falafel restaurant. He loves life.
Anne Newell; Social Media Manager
Anne grew up in Plattsburgh New York – just an hour south of Montreal. Her early musical tastes were flavored by her parents, who had large music collections beyond the country/western bubble that surrounds Upstate New York. In high school, she spent the money she made ringing out groceries going to concerts in Montreal and Burlington, Vermont. After a year at college in Burlington, she realized that she needed a career in the music business, so she enrolled in SUNY Oneonta as a Music Industry major and Business minor. She spent her years at school deeply involved in the thriving music scene on and off campus, and attended shows every week in venues, bars, living rooms, and basements. She and her four roommates made the move to the New York City area immediately after graduating, and she began working with Inherent Artists Music as an assistant artist manager. Today, she’s happy to be part of The MuseBox and spends her free time searching New York for the best dollar pizza slice she can find.
Katherine McCulloch; Canadian Lifestyle Coordinator
Katherine fell in love with the independent music scene when she started working at Ottawa’s community radio station, CHUO89.1FM in 2010. It didn’t take long for her to realize that she had finally found her groove. A 21-year old Toronto native with a penchant for indie rock, she is passionate about bringing the spotlight to emerging Canadian bands. Currently residing in Canada’s capital, she is completing her Honours BA in Communication and New Media at the University of Ottawa while also working part-time at the radio station. She is unashamed to admit that she spends more time reading Pitchfork, Daytrotter and independent music blogs than she does reading her school textbooks. When Katherine falls in love with a band, she falls hard and goes out of her way to get others to feel the same. She pours her time and energy into discovering and promoting emerging artists she believes in. She is something of a social media aficionado and networking powerhouse with PR running though her veins. Katherine loves music in its entirety. But what she loves most is bringing the music she is passionate about to others—bridging the gap. Katherine is the kind of girl that likes to make a lasting impression wherever she goes—she’s that girl you see at every show, every music festival, either front row, side stage or backstage telling jokes and sharing ghost stories with band while helping load up their van (true story). This girl is a night crawling city dweller, a crowd-surfing expert, vinyl addict, fashion junkie, closet nerd and karaoke dynamo who can make friends with just about anybody.
Naomi Parnes; Junior Traffic Coordinator / Head Intern
Naomi grew up in New Jersey just minutes away from the iconic Stone Pony, where such acts as Bruce Springsteen, The Ramones, and Van Morrison played some of their first shows. She also spent summers in Martha’s Vineyard surrounded by the many eclectic artists and musicians that call this island home during the warm months. Finding herself between two artistic meccas, there is no doubt she would become enthralled by the music industry.Upon graduating from NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Naomi was fortunate to gain experience in various industries such as television, fashion and publishing but has always found herself most comfortable within in the music scene. She’s happy to be part of the MuseBox team as our Junior Traffic Coordinator and Head Intern.
Eve St.Jude Fiorillo; Canadian Publicity Assistant Intern
For eight years Eve, a lifelong party monster and music maniac, threw electrified, out of control parties and concerts called A.D/D in her native Toronto. The parties featured artists like LCD Soundsystem, Justice, Cut Copy, Lupe Fiasco, Diplo, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT, MYLO, Soulwax, and pretty much every other electro/electro-ish act at the time. A.D/D was named Now Magazine’s “Best Promoter of the Year” for three years. It was then recruited by the legendary “King of Clubs” Peter Gatien to produce and promote a weekly party for his most recent club Circa – a 3000 person work of nightclub art. The event was called Randomland, and featured a cast of colourful cartoon characters who inhabited it. Randomland was the biggest weekly electro-based club night of its kind in North America. It ran for two years, and subsequently Eve designed and opened her own space-disco fantasy-spaceship themed champagne bar called FOMO. In addition to Musebox, Eve currently works with The Toronto Concert Orchestra and as a freelance graphic designer.
TESTIMONIALS
“We were delighted with the service. Top drawer stuff, you guys set a standard!!”
– Daniel Cross of Tape Records (The Brute Chorus)
“We have seldom had such a great experience with an indie company as we have had with Musebox on this tour. Your dedication to the project was above & beyond the call of duty and I know that the band felt the same way.”
– Bob Duskis of Six Degrees Records (The Dø)
“We really loved working with The Musebox! You made this tour for us! We got a huge amount of media attention and getting our name in all the local (Toronto) press. We got great reviews from critics that showed up to our shows and we have to thank you for getting some of those people out to the shows! So basically, this Canada/USA tour was a great success for us in terms of reviews/media exposure/contacts because of your great work!”
– Hallur of BLOODGROUP (from Iceland)
“The Musebox brought us over to Toronto and New York for 9 shows altogether in June, and we had a blast! So cool to have dedicated and professional people around us at all times who also knew how to have a real good time! And really sweet guys too. It seemed they had done quite a lot of promotion for us over there; radio and tv-interviews, great clubs in both cities, photo sessions and quite alot of people at the shows, too! And we haven’t even properly released our album over there yet. Much appreciated indeed and big respect to everyone we met. Hope to work closely with the Musebox in the future!”
– David Dajani of PIRATE LOVE (from Norway)
“Working with The Musebox thus far has been a great experience. Within just a few weeks of working with the team there, our band was featured on several prominent blogs and print magazines, both indie and mainstream. The attention they’ve shown me puts my own parents to shame. I say this not to embarass my parents – I love them – but to highlight The Musebox’s ability to partner with us in a proactive manner and provide creative solutions to our goal of making lots of money and being really famous and owning a yacht that we could write the words DAS RACIST on and then use to booze and cruise on in St. Tropez or some place Diddy and Jay rap about. Nahmsaying?”
– Himanshu Suri of DAS RACIST
“The Musebox has been an essential part of our growth as a band in the last few months of working together. As a team they’ve provided us with a platform to expand and reach new audiences, by landing our band as Myspace’s featured artist for the release of our Debut LP “Migration”. Using their industry contacts, we had the privilege of signing with one of Canada’s top booking agencies, Paquin Entertainment. The Musebox was able to assist us on securing a highly promoted NXNE showcase and as well as flourishing many very promising industry contacts. The Musebox has been a key step in our band’s career, taking us to a level of competitiveness where by the term “independent band” is irrelevant.”
–Sean Ramesbottom of ARIETTA
“I love working with your agency! You’re always happy to help. You provide fast, efficient and courteous service to our request. In our line of business, where we need everything yesterday, it counts for a lot. It’s such a refreshing change!”
–David Baeta, Segment Producer (VOLT-TFO)
“The MuseBox hit gold for The Homosexuals’ recent tour and EP. We were covered by Pitchfork, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Onion, RCRDLBL and many more. They just have a way about them that’s not the norm and I like it, I really do. They actually get the job done for the little guy, a rare accomplishment in the often murky world of music marketing.”
– Travis Harrison (owner Serious Business Records / Serious Business Music, drummer for the Homosexuals, the Unsacred Hearts)
“The MuseBox has played a pivotal role in expanding SHADs reach from local to, literally, global. The MuseBox has been able to help artists like SHAD capitalize in an era where industry gurus do not have answers. One of the most critical points in SHADs growth came in 2008 when The MuseBox secured SHADs new video a launch on Pitchfork.TV, and locked in a #1 feature on YouTube worldwide. Jumping from 20,000 hits to over 500,000 in just a few days, The MuseBox was able to turn a great video into the viral piece that it was destined to be. After succeeding with Pitchfork and YouTube, The MuseBox continued to push for more exposure. The hard work and dedication that The Musebox team put behind SHADs music was definitely a catalyst in the upward trajectory that SHADs career continues to ride.”
–Gaurav Sawhney | The Faculty Of
“The MuseBox were a great help in the marketing of our recent Ocean Rain show at Radio City Music Hall. Their press contacts are second to none – and we’re sure that their assistance went a long way to making this show the total success it was”
– Pete & Peasy (Porcupine Management, managers of Echo & The Bunnymen)
“The MuseBox has been instrumental in establishing a strong Canadian presence for both of my bands: Brasstronaut & The Clips, as well as for my label, Unfamiliar Records. The staff at The MuseBox are extremely effective networkers & communicators, giving me complete confidence in entrusting them with my life’s work.”
- Edo Van Breemen, Unfamiliar Records
“The MuseBox took my artist to a whole other level of exposure on the web, starting with multiple online reviews every week and leading up to the holy grail of all, a MySpace feature. I was quite satisfied for the price and will definitely use them again.”
- Phil Jaurigui Swinghouse LA, Manager, Astra Heights
“I finally got a chance to take a good look at the final report, and it looks great! I especially like all the detail, and the feedback from the stores is excellent. Thanks for all the work that went into the campaign and this report. It was definitely very good working with you and The Musebox as well.”
- Amza Kubba – Capsule Records Inc.
“The MuseBox keeps me posted on what is hot and what is hotter. Communication is key when producing retail ambiance. The MuseBox is always there for that. The MuseBox rocks, beeps and whistles.”
- Paul Frank Industries, inc. ”
The MuseBox has been instrumental in expanding the reach of the band’s they work with in our city of San Diego, in particular by marketing on a street level in a way that advertisements can never touch. Post concert parties, in-store and online contests, and in store performances are just a few examples of how M-Theory and The MuseBox have worked together to promote the artists we sell. The MuseBox is effective and reaches the target audience that cares about the music!”
- Eric Howarth, Owner, M-Theory Music, San Diego, CA
“Specialized companies such as The MuseBox have become key in developing fan bases for indie bands and new artists on major labels.”
- LATimes
“The folks at The MuseBox have just the right ideas about marketing music. Thanks to them my retail store has THE BEST selection of new music playing all the time. MuseBox has also done contests and give-aways with our store, that not only thrill our customers, but also gives them an opportunity to experience new music firsthand. These guys are unmatched!”
- Brat, Santa Monica

-Livia Tortella, Vice President of Marketing & Artist Development, Atlantic Records Group
“Thanks for the report. It’s really a fantastic product – really helpful for me, and puts everything in perspective. Working with such knowledgeable folks was really a pleasure and a great experience for me, and I think this report is an important reminder of some of the successes, things to keep working on and contacts to pursue. “
- Ben Wilson, That’s The Spirit
