Brasstronaut

While the rest of us scrape our windshields in -30 degree climates, Vancouver’s eclectic, electric and emergent Brasstronaut will be spending this coming winter in musical hibernation.

The soulful 4-piece has recently been accepted to the Winter Music Creative Residency at the Banff Centre, in the mountains of Alberta. But instead of snoozing with the bears, they’ll be writing and recording their debut LP in a ‘music hut’ in the snowy forest over three months beginning just after the new year. The guys will also be experimenting with electronic and video elements to add to an already dynamic live show.

If you want to be one of the first people to witness what wonders snowy isolation can inspire, keep glued to their Myspace page for shows popping up all over Alberta during this time, followed by an ambitious North American spring tour kicking off March ’09.
