Straight out of the wild and onto the stage, The Rattles rock like no other band around. With the release of their debut album Rattle On, this unlikely crew delivers a polished blend of classic rock and power pop. Now The Rattles are ready to bring their good-time sound to fans of all ages.
It was a bit of magic and a lot of luck that brought the touring musicians Gus, Kitty, Sal and Hal together to form The Rattles. From their chance meeting sprung a band and a sound that was soon ready to take on the real world.
Rattle On captures the diverse sounds and songwriting talents of this one-of-a-kind animal collective. From the opening anthem "Rattle On" and the infectious chant "R-A-T-T-L-E-S," to moodier numbers like "Monday Morning Drive" and "Goodbye Yesterday," to ballads like "1-2-3 Count on Me" and "Apple of My Eye," the band brings a sound that is both familiar and fresh.
"This was the album we were born to make," says lead singer Gus. "I've been waiting my entire life to show people what I can do. You are gonna love this!"
The other Rattles may not be as bold as Gus, but they believe they are ready for bigger things. "Hal, Sal and me spent a lot of time playing to no one in particular," says Kitty. "Once we got together with Gus and became The Rattles, we knew right away we had something people, particularly kids, would get. We knew we had to make an album."
Hal and Sal usually leave the spotlight to Gus and Kitty, while providing the musical backbone. "I'm just really happy we made a good album," Hal says. "People hear the songs, and they get it right away. That means a lot to me."
"Playing music is what I do and what The Rattles do," adds Sal. "I focus on playing music, and let the other stuff take care of itself."
With their album out and ready for the world, The Rattles want to get back to what they do best - playing shows. The Rattles love the road, and are looking forward to having their fans check out their shows and tales of their adventures at rattlesrock.com.
"It's not easy being the only girl in the band," Kitty adds. "Most of the girls I meet secretly want to play the drums. So when they see me singing and playing, I want them to know that they can do it, too."
With their manager Benny, an indestructible tour van nicknamed Sweet Pea, and a flock of roadies named Elvis, The Rattles are ready to resume their life on the road.
"There's nobody else like us," says Gus. Give us a listen, and you'll see what I mean."
