X-Factor Marketing: Scattered Trees

The Musebox conceived and created the FOUR-PLAY VIDEO CONTEST for Chicago band SCATTERED TREES and their label Roll Call Records.  Under the program, we worked with the film departments at four New York area schools – NYU, Columbia, Princeton, and the School of Visual Arts to involve their top film students in the making of a video for the band’s song “Four Days Straight.”  The band (including Weinstein Company alum Jason Harper) helped choose the four best video treatments, and worked with each of the student directors to film their own version of the song over the course of “four days straight” in New York.

The four resulting videos were all excellent, and showcased for fan voting with our promotional partner, the top video streaming site CLUSTER 1 /Consequence of Sound.  We also brought in MTV.com as a follow-on partner, who featured the winning video by NYU’s Markus Kneer.
