X-Factor Marketing: The Ames Sessions

The challenge from our client MORGANS HOTEL GROUP was to brand their Boston property the AMES HOTEL as a sophisticated yet cutting edge and vibrant hotel property, involved with and contributing to the entertainment scene in Boston. To do this, we created and promoted a weekly series of after-work performances during Fall 2011 called THE AMES SESSIONS.

The Musebox managed all elements of the Ames Session initiative, which included:

  • securing the bands, including key indie acts like the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, Kim Boekbinderand Supercute;
  • running the promotion and pr campaign with outreach and placement in over 220 media outlets;
  • managing the logistics and execution of each week’s event;
  • developing ongoing promotional partnerships with top-tier Boston music lifestyle sources including NEWBURY COMICS and the WEEKLY DIG.

By developing the full program under the overall “Ames Session” brand, The MuseBox was able to establish and solidify the connection points between Boston’s creative community and the cultural fabric of the Ames Hotel.  These efforts ultimately drove an 8x ROI for the client, including promotional impact across media and social channels, professional and production services, lifestyle partnerships, custom content development, and talent fees.
